Sunset Supper at Pike’s Place Market 2010

Sunset Supper at Pike Place

Friday, August 13th, 2010 found us at the Pike Place Market and the 15th Annual Sunset Supper event. It was an honor to be there among all those wonderful restaurants, wineries, breweries and spirit companies (we love that Intrigue Chocolates defies categorization!). All 80 entities , 1,000 paying customers enjoying the night out, and 150 volunteers, joined together by the Market Foundation’s mission to raise money for their community.

If you were there you know there was a definite buzz of excitement in the air, and if you stopped by our booth, you were having a blast! People really did seem to be having a good time, and we saw a lot of excited truffle-sampling going on!

The weather was awesome, wine was flowing, Seattle’s top chefs were cooking. Add live music to all of that and it was a good party! It was great to work with Seattle Uncorked once again, and we are so pleased to be part of the tradition of neighborhood that the Market Foundation works to preserve. Social services provided in the marketplace include; senior center, daycare, preschool and food bank. All valuable services for valuable Seattle residents!

Sips and Shoes, November 8th, 2009

SipsShoes09-108This annual event—in its fourth year—was a bonanza of excellent wines to be tasted and fabulous shoes to be bought at auction. The crowd was dressed to the nines and excited about the shoes that were auctioned off by local television news personality John Curly. The event was a fundraiser to benefit the Ryther Child Center, which “offers and develops safe places and opportunities for children, youth and families to heal and grow so that they can reach their highest potential”.

Out of the 30 great regional wineries represented, we were lucky enough to have our table snugged up next to the fine folks from Windy Point Vineyards. We are always glad to run into these nice folks who are congenial about “working” with us to discover great pairings of Intrigue Truffles with their delicious wines. This time we struck upon an incredible match between our “Orange you glad…” truffle and their “2006 Yakima Valley ‘!’ (Exclamation Point is the name of the wine). This dark wine is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, its tease of leather lending itself beautifully to bringing out the best of the orange zest and dark rum of our truffle. You gotta’ try it!

It’s that time of year again: our table generated a lot of excitement over the ease of ordering Intrigue Truffles online. Eliciting exclamations of “this would make a great Christmas gift!”. (And it would indeed, hint, hint!)
